Thomas Jennings ``Tommie'' Weeks Sr., 78, of the 2600 block of Smithson Drive, died Friday, Nov. 24, 1995, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mr. Weeks was born in Weeksville, N.C. He was the son of the late John P. and Jessie Jennings Weeks. He was a member of Hickory United Methodist Church, a veteran of World War II and served under the command of Gen. George Patton at the Battle of the Bulge. He was employed with Ford Motor Company, where he retired after 32 years of service.
Mr. Weeks is survived by his wife, Sarah Stewart Weeks; one daughter, Elizabeth Weeks Hasty of Wagram, N.C.; one son, Tom Weeks Jr. of Virginia Beach; two brothers, C.F. Weeks and Edmund Weeks, both of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren, Victor Weeks, Aden Weeks, and Byron Weeks, all of Virginia Beach.
A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, Nov. 26, 1995, in Rosewood Memorial Park Cemetery at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Tom Mercer and the Rev. Otis Zirkle. A visitation for family and friends will be held today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Twiford Funeral Home, Great Bridge, Chesapeake. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
