Thomas Edward Francis, 77, of the Edenton Prime Time Retirement Village, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 1995, in Chowan Hospital.
A native of Chowan County, Mr. Francis was the son of the late Louis Edward and Lillie V. Goodwin Francis. He was a former co-owner of the Edenton Tractor Company, a retired farmer and a member of the Edenton Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Jean Francis Norvell of Edenton; a stepson, Frank Adams of Gatesville, N.C.; three sisters, Margaret White and Lillie Mae Stroud, both of Edenton, and Catherine Robey of Orange Park, Fla.; one brother, Robert M. Francis of Edenton; and several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Entombment services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Francis Mausoleum in Beaver Hill Cemetery with Masonic rites. The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Lillie Mae Stroud, 324 Mexico Road, Edenton. The Evans Funeral Home of Edenton is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Edenton-Chowan Rescue Squad.
