MARY D. SMITH

Mary B. Dail Smith, 77, of the 4000 block of Race St., died Nov. 24, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.

Mrs. Smith, a native of Portsmouth, was a retired secretary with Commercial Insurance Agency. She was a member of Green Acres Presbyterian Church, Portsmouth.

Survivors include her husband, David R. Smith; one daughter, Linda Russell Smith of Portsmouth; one son, David Wilen Smith of Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Ethel Story Kirk and Virginia D. Dail, both of Portsmouth; two brothers, Rev. John R. Dail of Burgaw, N.C., and Thomas Reed Dail of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, Tracie Elaine Smith and James Russell Smith.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Green Acres Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Walter C. Hunting. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. The family will receive friends at the church from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be made to the Green Acres Presbyterian Church. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
