MEDIA
Michael C. Lambert was named sales manager of NewCars, a division of The Virginian-Pilot. He will be responsible for sales and development of the magazine for new car buyers. Prior to this, he was vice president of media services at The Polizos Agency in Norfolk.
Lee Halladay was named NewCars product coordinator. She was previously the classified office manager for The Virginian-Pilot. And Vladimir Herrera was named NewCars creative coordinator. He will be responsible for design and coordinating the appearance of the magazine.
ARCHITECTURE
Brian K. Smith was appointed director of computer services at HBA Architecture & Interior Design in Virginia Beach. He will be responsible for optimizing and administering the firm's current computer systems. He will also assist architects and designers with CADD drawing development and generating 3-D computer models and computer/video animation for ongoing projects. He most recently worked as a CADD manager for ASA Architects in Virginia Beach.
Glenn & Sadler in Norfolk has expanded its architectural division and added four new positions to this department. Roger L. Beale was appointed director of architecture and William S. Wills, Gary T. Joyce and Tom Retnauer were named project architects. Beale, Wills and Joyce were formerly with R.L. Beale Inc., an architectural firm in Virginia Beach that recently closed. Retnauer was formerly with Overcash-Demmitt Architects in Charlotte, N.C.
ENGINEERING
David P. Thompson was named transportation program manager for HDR Engineering Inc. in Virginia Beach. He is a registered professional engineer with more than 16 years of experience in project management and structural design. Prior to this, he was a supervising structural engineer for Parsons Brinckerhoff in Norfolk.
Bruce A. Seamans was named an owner of Miller-Stephenson & Associates in Virginia Beach. He joins owners Robert S. Miller III, Walter R. Stephenson Jr., Wayne D. McCoy and Craig B. Davenport. Seamans will also continue to serve as vice president of engineering.
HEALTH CARE
Dr. Cynthia N. Anthis and Dr. Eddie L. Smith have joined Eastern Virginia Medical School as faculty physicians. Anthis was named the assistant professor of family and community medicine. She graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in 1992 and completed her residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She will see patients at the EVMS Health Services in Virginia Beach and on the school's campus in Norfolk.
Smith is the assistant professor of family and community medicine. He trained at Forbes Health System in Pittsburgh. He will see patients at the medical school in Norfolk.
ADVERTISING
Elizabeth R. Putnam was promoted to director of advertising of specialty services at ID America, an imprinted promotional products supplier in Virginia Beach. She will be responsible for creating and overseeing corporate identity programs for the company's clients throughout the Southeast. She joined the staff three years ago as an assistant director.
LAW
John F. Carroll IV, a registered U.S. patent attorney, was named an associate with the firm of Payne, Gates, Farthing & Radd in Norfolk. He is a 1995 graduate of the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond.
Christopher S. Boynton was named an associate with the law firm of Cooper, Spong & Davis in Portsmouth. He is a 1995 graduate of the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary.
Solomon H. Ashby, Susan R. Blackman and Michael C. Davis were named associates at the Norfolk firm of Willcox & Savage. Ashby will practice in the insurance defense and personal injury defense area of the firm's litigation group. He is a 1995 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Law. Blackman is a 1995 graduate of The Marshall-Wythe School of Law of the College of William and Mary. She will practice in the labor and employment and professional liability sections of the litigation group. And Davis joins the firm's commercial litigation section. Prior to joining Willcox & Savage, he practiced with Goldberg, Kohn, Bell, Black, Rosenbloom & Moritz, Ltd. in Chicago.
