DOROTHY SNOWDEN

Dorothy Snowden, of the 7000 block of Auburn Ave., died Nov. 23, 1995, in a local hospital.

She was a native of Norfolk and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Norfolk. She was a member of Grand Court of Virginia Order of Calanthe 287, and Norfolk Eureka 1B.

She is survived by a daughter, Gloria S. Brown of Norfolk; a son, the Rev. Horace Snowden of Anniston, Ala.; a brother, Eli Gaines of Brooklyn, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a special friend, Charles Harrell of Norfolk.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. John Davis in Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Burial is in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will assemble at 1114 Winston Ave., the day of the service. The remains will be placed in church at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Graves Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
