Lyle Willard Maples, 77, of the 600 block of Berkley Place, died Nov. 25, 1995, in Norfolk.
Mr. Maples, a native of South Norfolk, Va., retired as a supervisor with C & P Telephone Co. with 42 years of service. He served in World War II as a Merchant Marine radio operator. Mr. Maples was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and was an amateur radio operator.
Survivors include beloved wife, Ina Rae V. Maples; two beloved sons, Larry M. Maples and his wife Sharon of Virginia Beach, Mark W. Maples and his wife Debra of Chesapeake; five beloved sisters, Elma M Brinn, Edna M. FitzGerald, Nellie May Dillon, Geraldine M. Smith, Carol M. Phillippi; two beloved brothers, Charles R. Maples, James W. Maples; and two beloved grandchildren, Christian Lyle Maples and Michelle N. Maples.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Riverside Cemetery in Norfolk by the Rev. Anthony G. Diffenbaugh. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
