Thomas Hall Forester, 85, died Nov. 27, 1995, at the Veteran's Home in Roanoke, Va. He was married for 37 years to Beryl Dunning Forester.
Tom was a native of Union City, Tenn., who had made Tidewater his home for over 40 years. A graduate of Benjamin Franklin University of Washington, D.C., and a veteran of the Intelligence Service for the U.S. Navy, he served his country during World War II. He was self-educated and passed the Virginia State Bar in 1957. He was retired from government service after 30 years working for Internal Revenue Service. Tom was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his widow, Beryl of Virginia Beach; a brother, W.M. Forester of Deming, New Mexico; a son, G. Melvyn House of Raleigh, N.C. He was preceded in death by his son, Russell House. Many other loved ones including his four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren will miss him very much.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel by Pastor Kenneth Carbaugh. The family will meet with friends Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
