Joseph Vernon Pierce Jr., 54, of Route 1, Box 22, died Nov. 26, 1995, in his home.
A native of Gates County, he was retired from C.F. Industries. He was a member of Parkers United Methodist Church. He was a Navy veteran.
Surviving are one son, ``Jimmy'' Joseph E. Pierce of Raleigh; his mother, Ruth Daniels Pierce of Corapeake; and four grandchildren.
A funeral service will be today at 2 p.m. at Parkers United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ann Benson and the Rev. Jim Cone. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Harrell Funeral Home, Gatesville is in charge of arrangements.
