Luther Brewer, 75, of the 2800 block of Church St., died Nov. 24, 1995, in Beverly Manor Nursing Home, Portsmouth.
Mr. Brewer, a native of Potecasi, N.C., was a member of Bryant Baptist Church, Capron.
Survivors include two daughters, Judith A. Brewer of Richmond, Va., Rita B. Myrick Majette of Portsmouth; two sons, Luther Clayton Brewer and his wife, Carlene of Portsmouth, Specialist 1st Class Larry Brewer and his wife, Linda of Ft. Gordan, Ga.; seven brothers, Raymond Brewer of Suffolk, Nathan Brewer of Engelwood, N.J., Herman Brewer and Rudolph Brewer, both of Hyattsville, Md., Lindberg Brewer of Washington, D.C., Herbert Brewer of Norfolk, and Bruce L. Brewer of Hampton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Bryant Baptist Church by the Rev. James Vinson. Burial will be in Brewer Family Cemetery, Capron. The remains will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. A wake service will be held in the church from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service. Engram Funeral Home, Courtland, in charge.
