Lonnie Fenton Branch, 83, of 33422 Berea Church Road, died Nov. 27, 1995, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Branch was a native of Southampton County, Va., and was a former resident of Hampton. He was the son the late Fenton and Hattie Raiford Branch. Mr. Branch was a Navy veteran, a retired barber, and had retired as a deputy sheriff from the Hampton Sheriff's Department. He was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church and its men's bible class.
Survivors include his wife, Mavis Shaddox Branch; two daughters, Frances Modena Arnette of Williamsburg and Mary Elizabeth Williams of Midlothian; one son, L.F. Beasley of Troy, Va.; a stepdaughter, Janelle Long; a stepson, Kevin Shaddox, both of Mexico, Mo.; a sister, Katherine B. Beale of Franklin; two brothers, Joe Branch of Zuni and Rodgers Branch of Hampton; and 20 grandchildren. Mr. Branch was predeceased by his wife, Tessie Worthington Branch; a daughter, Martha B. Posey; and two brothers, Walter Wallace Branch and Phillip Crabor Branch.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. Wayne Underwood. A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and suggest that memorials be made to the Courtland Rescue Squad, Courtland, Va. 23837.
