ARGUMENT ENDS IN DEATH

A weekend argument between brothers turned violent, leaving one man dead and the other charged with murder.

Wayne Terrell Randolph, 22, was shot twice in the chest with a large-caliber handgun Sunday night, police said. He was found about 8:50 p.m. in the front yard of the house he shared with his mother and older brother, in the 100 block of N. Capital St. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Prenell Randolph Jr., 30, was arrested Monday morning after turning himself in at police headquarters. He was charged with second degree murder and using a firearm during a felony. He was in Western Tidewater Regional Jail Monday afternoon.

Police spokesman Mike Simpkins said the shooting apparently resulted from argument between the brothers, either in the yard or on the front porch. Detectives E.C. Harris and D.J. George are investigating.
