CITY COLLECTS FOOD AND TOYS

To help needy families during the holidays, the city is collecting canned foods and new, unwrapped toys today through Dec. 15.

Residents can place donations in collection boxes at these locations:

All Norfolk fire stations

City Hall, 810 Union Street

Social Services, 220 W. Brambleton Ave.

Huntersville Multi-Service Center, 830 Goff Street

Park Place Multi-Service Center, 606 W. 29th Street

Little Creek Multi-Service Center, 7665 Sewells Point Road

This year's goal is to assist 150 families referred by the Department of Social Services. Last year 129 families were helped.
