NO USE FOR REPUBLICANS

In the Nov. 7 election, I was fairly pleased and somewhat in accord with some candidates who were elected.

I could not believe any intelligent person, Democrat or Republican, would have voted for Thelma Drake over Howard Copeland. If they had viewed and studied his record carefully (this information could have been obtained from a reliable source), there would not have been any doubt who was more-qualified.

His experience was far more overwhelming than that of a real-estate salesperson. Just because George Allen endorsed her, by no means did this qualify her.

It's too bad we don't have a Harry F. Byrd, for then and only then Virginia was a state that stood above all others, and at all times the concern was for all Virginians, not as it is today - for George Allen's well-being and that of Northern Virginia.

I've lived under Republican governors and presidents, and at no time has any good come from them. They are and have always been against the working class and supporters of the rich and well-to-do.
