WILLIAM W. CUTHRIELL

William West Cuthriell, 79, died of cancer in Woodbridge, Va., Nov. 27, 1995.

He was born and lived in Portsmouth for 77 years until moving to Woodbridge to live with his daughter. He worked in the planning section of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, where he retired in 1972 after 33 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth Duke Cuthriell.

His survivors include two daughters, Beverley Cuthriell Scott of Woodbridge, and Billie Cuthriell Flippen of Austin, Texas; four grandchildren, William Cuthriell Scott, Amy Elizabeth Scott, John Thomas Flippen and Paul Gregory Flippen; a brother, Robert Griffen Cuthriell of Portsmouth; and a sister, Elizabeth Cuthriell Uhler of Norfolk.

The body will be at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, Saturday, prior to a graveside service to be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Churchland Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to VNA Community Hospice, 2775 South Quincy Street, Suite 260, Arlington, Va. 22206.
