MARGARET G. SHAW

Margaret Green Shaw, 78, of the 2700 block of Bagley St., died Nov. 27, 1995, in Maryview Hospital.

Mrs. Shaw, the widow of John R. Shaw, was a retired practical nurse. She worked as a private duty nurse for 40 years. She was a native of Norfolk and a member of First Baptist Church, Bute Street, Norfolk. She was a former child welfare worker for the church, secretary of the Zion Builders Sunday school class, former member of the Senior and Chancel Choirs, and a Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include two sisters, Rebecca Green Gallop and Sarah Stokes, both of Portsmouth; a sister-in-law, Thelma R. Morris of Norfolk; brothers-in-law, Ananias Gallop and Embri Stokes, both of Portsmouth, and Cleveland Massenberg of Philadelphia; six nieces, Joyce Nix of Philadelphia, Sandra Franklin of Stone Mountain, Ga., Brenda Taylor of Petersburg, Va., Myra Clark of Chesapeake, Mable Stokes and Leronia Josey, both of Baltimore, Md.; and a host of grandnieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church Bute Street, Norfolk, by the Rev. Robert G. Murray. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon Thursday. The body will be taken to the church at noon Friday. The family will be at the home of her sister, 101 Sunrise Ave., Portsmouth, and will assemble there for the funeral.
