A 23-year-old man was arrested Tuesday and charged with murder in the Nov. 21 shooting death of a 41-year-old Virginia Beach man.
Carl L. Walton of the 5100 block of Condor Street was arrested at 9 p.m., said Mike Carey, spokesman for the Virginia Beach Police Department. Walton also was charged with a weapons violation.
He is being held at the city jail and will have a bond hearing this morning.
Police say Walton shot William H. Farris, 41, of the 500 block of Southgate Ave. about 11:30 p.m. Nov. 21. The shooting occurred near the intersection of Harrier Street and Richard Road in the Northridge section of the city.
Carey said that investigators believe the men knew each other and that the shooting was drug-related.
