CAMPUS NOTES

The senior coordinator of Norfolk Public Schools' guidance department, Pam Kloeppel, was elected chairman of the College Board's 1995-96 Guidance and Admissions Assembly during the board's national forum in San Diego.

Kloeppel, who has a doctorate from the University of Virginia, has taught high school Latin and history at Virginia Wesleyan College and Old Dominion University. She also has co-authored a book of lesson plans for teachers and counselors on communications skills and personal development. In addition, she holds leadership positions in many professional and community service organizations.

Charles B. Meek III, a student at Bridgewater (Va.) College, made the dean's list for the fall term. Meek, a graduate of Lake Taylor High School, plays on the school's golf team. He is the son of JoAnn Meek Pilcher and the late Charles B. Meek Jr.

MILITARY PEOPLE

Marine Pfc. Benjamin G. Williamsen, son of Eugenia E. Meyers of the 1200 block of West Tallwood, recently completed the Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Course at Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, N.C.

Air Force Airman Sherman McDonald III, son of Sherman McDonald Jr. of the 100 block of Hough Ave. and Gina J. Key of Hayward, has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Air Force Reserve Airman Diane Y. Alexander, daughter of Thomas E. Alexander of the 1700 block of Vernon Drive, has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Alexander is a 1989 graduate of Lake Taylor High School and a 1995 graduate of Norfolk State University.

William L. Taylor III of Norfolk has enlisted in the Navy for training in the postal clerk program. He will go through basic training at Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill.

Stacey L. Anderson, daughter of James and Gloria Anderson of Norfolk and a 1995 graduate of Lake Taylor High School, has enlisted in the Navy for training in the apprenticeship program. She will go through basic training at Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill.
