No deployment of our troops to Bosnia for these reasons:
1. The United States has no national interest in this region.
2. The conflict is an ancient one mired in religion and culture. It will never be solved by foreign troops in a few months or years.
3. The president has proved unreliable in words and deeds on most issues of national attention. He may be using this situation and our armed forces to enhance his re-election chances in 1996.
4. The situation could easily degenerate into a late-century Vietnam.
