MARY K. SCOTT

Mary Kathryn Scott, 77, of the 2600 block of Taylor Road, died Nov. 29, 1995, in Portsmouth.

She was a native of Edenton, N.C., and had worked as a secretary for both Emmaus Baptist Church and Taylor Road Baptist Church. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Chesapeake.

She is survived by her husband, Herman Willis Scott Sr.; five sons, David Willis Scott of Elizabeth City, Richard Warren Scott of Warminster, Pa., Herman Willis Scott Jr. of New Bern, N.C., Mark Wade Scott of Court-land, Va., Samuel Chesson Scott of Chesterfield, Va.; three sisters, Ruth Shaw of Hollywood, Fla., Evelyn Raines of Seattle, Wash., Becky Jones of Petersburg, Va.; three brothers, Maywood Chesson Jr. of Lakeland, Fla., Stillman Chesson of Waverly, Va., and Mike Chesson of Waverly; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. David Dillon and Dr. Chreston Holoman. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
