WILLIAM F. BROWN

William F. Brown, 69, of the 1200 block of Bunsen Court, died Nov. 28, 1995, in his residence.

He was a retired aircraft controller for the Naval Air Station where he had worked for 34 years. He had been retired for 10 years. Mr. Brown was a native of Norfolk and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Berkley. He was a former member of the gospel choir and the male usher board. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Mary L. Brown; two daughters, Cheryl Brown of Chesapeake and Jacqueline Davis of Virginia Beach; two sons, Melvin Brown of Virginia Beach and William A. Brown Sr. of Chesapeake; his mother, Lucille Slade of Norfolk; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; godmother, Grace Anthony of Chesapeake; two daughters-in-law, Sharon Brown of Virginia Beach and Johnetta Brown of Chesapeake; and son-in-law, Clinton Davis of Virginia Beach. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Brown.

A funeral service will be conducted at noon Saturday by Dr. Charles Hart in Mount Zion Baptist Church. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Pretlow's Funeral Home and Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the church. Family and friends will assemble at 1205 Bunsen Court, Norfolk, at 11:15 a.m. for the procession to the church. The family will also be receiving friends at the residence on Saturday.
