Francis Elwood ``Frenchie'' Carter, born Oct. 17, 1962, in Moyock, N.C., was called home to glory on Nov. 25, 1995.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Washington; their two children, Brian Elwood Carter, Kristin Cimone Carter, and his eldest daughter, Erika Breezy Nicole Carter of Detroit, Mich.; fathers, William Carter of Newport News and Francis Elwood Goodwyn of Hampton; mother, Cathy M. Patterson of Chesapeake; four brothers, William M. Carter of Long Beach, Calif., Vernon E. Carter of Chesapeake, Darryl A. Carter and Franco R. Goodwyn of Hampton; grandmother, Ella M. Hill of Chesapeake; grandfather, Thomas McPherson and step-grandmother, Clara McPherson of Moyock; 11 aunts; 10 uncles; nine great-aunts; one great-uncle; one great-great-aunt; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Memorial services will be held at Willow Grove Baptist Church, 841 W. St. Brides Road, Chesapeake, on Saturday, at noon. Graves Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
