FLORENCE E. PITTS

Florence Eason Pitts, 62, of the 100 block of Waterview Road, died Nov. 28, 1995, in her residences after a short illness.

She was the daughter of the late Charlie Alton Eason and Lillian Squires Eason of Chesapeake. Her husband of over 42 years, Donald Lee Pitts, predeceased her in 1994.

She was born in North Carolina and moved to Virginia with her family at an early age. She attended Great Bridge High School in Chesapeake and graduated in the Class of 1950 as valedictorian. Her early employment was with Fidelity and Casualty Insurance Co. in Norfolk and then she served as a legal secretary and office manager at the law firm of Rixey and Rixey in Norfolk and Virginia Beach for a period of 34 years. She also served as legal secretary for other local attorneys and more recently served as the legislative secretary for State Sen. Frederick M. Quayle in Chesapeake.

Mrs. Pitts is survived by two sisters, Frances Eason Boisture of Jennings, La., with her husband, Richard O. Boisture, and Flora Eason Davis of Atlanta with her husband, Philip O. Davis Jr.; and three nieces and a nephew.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by the Rev. Richard Browder. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
