PRINCESS ANNE BOROUGH PEOPLE INVITED TO 6 PUBLIC MEETINGS

City Council member Robert K. Dean wants to know what Princess Anne Borough residents see for their area's future.

Dean has scheduled six meetings over the next six months to solicit public input on the redrawing of the city's comprehensive plan.

The plan, a statement of what kind of development city leaders think is appropriate to different parts of the city, is re-examined every decade to account for changes in the city's growth patterns.

Several council members have said they hope to use the new plan to maintain strict growth limits in the southern half of the city. Dean said he wants to hear from his borough constituents before deciding what changes he will recommend.

The plan is prepared by the Planning Commission and then adopted by the City Council. Both the commission and the council will hold formal public hearings next year to solicit input as the plan is drafted.

Dean's meetings are scheduled for Dec. 6, Jan. 3, Feb. 7, March 6, April 3 and May 1. They will start at 7 p.m. and will be held at the Princess Anne Recreation Center, 1400 Ferrell Parkway, at the corner of General Booth Boulevard.
