Charles W. Mitchell Jr., 50, of the 2600 block of Gum Road, died Nov. 26, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mr. Mitchell, a brick mason, worked for Blake Masonry for 25 years. He was a native of Emory, Va. He was vice president of the E.B. Hunting Club.
Survivors include his wife, Effie Mitchell of Wytheville, Va.; three daughters, Charlene Boyd, Charlotte Mitchell, both of High Point, N.C., and Charmaine Stout of Nora, Ind.; a son, Charles W. Mitchell III of Harrisonburg, Va.; his mother, Lena Mitchell Whiteside of Greensville, Pa.; his stepfather, Claude Whiteside of Greensville; two sisters, Frances Dixon of Kent, Ohio, and Janette Marie Ellis of Chesapeake; three grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, Portsmouth, by the Rev. C.V. Russell Sr. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk. Viewing at the funeral home will begin at noon today. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
