LEON B. BASNIGHT JR.

Leon B. Basnight Jr., 73, of the 8400 block of Lynn River Road, died Nov. 30, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mr. Basnight, a delivery driver for Lab One Dental Lab, was also retired from Bruce Flournoy Ford and Green Gifford Chrysler-Plymouth. He was a native of Norfolk and a member of Episcopal Church of the Advent. He was a member of the American Legion and a naval veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Anita Marie W. Basnight; two daughters, Paula Basnight Bonocore and her husband, Joseph F. Bonocore Jr., of Virginia Beach, Joanne Basnight Shupe and her husband, T. William Shupe Sr. of Virginia Beach; and three grandchildren, Thomas W. Shupe Jr., Lisa Bonocore, and Joseph F. Bonocore III.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Robert M. Miller. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m. to receive friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Church of the Advent Memorial Fund.
