ALICE G. HAYMAN

Alice Gallop Hayman, 90, of the 8400 block of Camellia Road, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 1995, in Lake Taylor Nursing Center.

She was the daughter of the late Leslie and Delilah Meekins Gallop and the widow of Robert Fritz Hayman. She was a member of the Wanchese United Methodist Church and retired as assistant Dietitian at Leigh Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Hayman was born in Wanchese, Dare County, N.C., on Oct. 9, 1905.

Alice is survived by two daughters, Alma Singleton and Nina Hayman Brothers, both of Norfolk; two sisters, Terressa Daniels of Wanchese, and Stella Creef of Norfolk; a brother, William ``Bill'' Gallop of Wanchese; seven grandchildren, Fritz Brothers and Randy Cudworth, both of Virginia Beach, John Brothers of Jamestown, N.C., Nina Bean of Chesapeake, Jinx Johnson, Candy Cudworth, and Debbie John, all of Norfolk; 13 great-grandchildren, Bobby Brothers, Rick Johnson, Brett Johnson, John Brothers, Carie Brothers, Fritz Brothers, Sherri Wiegretz, Heather Robinson, Brittany Bean, Geoffrey Bean, Randy, Perri and Bubba John; a great-great-grandson, Chase Johnson; and a host of loved nieces, nephews, and relatives; special friends, Barl and Alex.

Mrs. Hayman will be missed by all who knew her and enjoyed what her family knew as a loving mother, grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and friend. Her family was her life and she enjoyed life. She was a hard worker, but her family came first. Her new family she had at the Lake Taylor Nursing Center was most special to her.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 1995, in the Wanchese United Methodist Church with the Rev. Billy Holliday officiating. Burial will be in Cudworth Cemetery in Wanchese. The family will receive friends at Twiford's Funeral Home, Colony Chapel, in Manteo, N.C. from 7 to 9 p.m. today, and other times at the residence of the brother in Wanchese. Twiford's Funeral Home, Ghent Chapel, Norfolk, is in charge of arrangements.
