Julia Pruitt Gladden, 78, died Nov. 30, 1995, in her residence.
She was the widow of John W. Gladden and was the daughter of the late Major Thomas and Margaret Wallace Pruitt. She was a member of Oceanview United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Mildred Stephenson No. 117 and O.E.S. Wachapreague.
She is survived by her children, John W. Gladden Jr. of Virginia Beach, Gregory T. Gladden of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister, Audrey Marshall of Hampton; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two nieces; and five nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted in the Wachapreague Cemetery at 2 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. Ned Van Dyck. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions can be made to Oceanview United Methodist Church c/o Fern Ward, Wachapreague, Va. 23480. Family and friends may call at her late residence, 8 Powellton St., Wachapreague, on Saturday after 7 p.m. Williams Onancock Funeral Home in charge.
