LOTTO JACKPOT CLAIMED

An Arlington resident has claimed the $16 million lottery jackpot of Aug. 26 with a ticket sold in Boykins.

R. Owens, who declined to speak to the media, produced the winning Lotto ticket, which was sold at a convenience store in the Southampton County town.

Lottery officials said Owens came to the Richmond headquarters Friday with the winning numbers: 6, 15, 16, 32, 39, 44.

Owens, who received the first payment of $558,932 after taxes, will get 19 additional payments averaging $561,000 after taxes. Lottery officials are required to withhold 28 percent for federal taxes and four percent for state taxes.
