Thomas E. Butler, 59, died Dec. 1, 1995, in Hampton.
He was the owner of Chesapeake Bay Yacht Brokerage and a native of Kansas City, Kan. He was a Catholic and a commodore of the Egg Harbor Club, U.S. Power Squadron, and was a U.S. naval veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn M. Butler; spiritual son, Gregory H. Rogers of Charleston, S.C.; mother-in-law, Allie M. Rockefeller of Topeka, Kan.; sister, Mary Elaine Meyers of Kansas City; sister-in-law, Lois Dismore of Omaha, Neb.; two brothers-in-law, Gene Rockefeller of Wasilla, Alaska, James Adams of Nellie, Ohio; nephew, Curt Meyers of Kansas City; niece, Kathy Baska of Kansas City; and two very close friends, Barbara Lester and Bess Cutter, both of Virginia Beach.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today by Father Donald Cabey in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel. Burial is in Highland Park Cemetery, Kansas City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. The body will be sent to Butler Funeral Home, Kansas City, for service and burial.
