THURMAN C. RENNER

Thurman Charles Renner, 85, husband of Florence Tankard Renner and a resident of Franktown, died at home on Sunday, Dec. 3, 1995.

Born and reared in Sugarcreek, Ohio, he was a son of the late Fredrick Charles and Susan Finzer Renner. He was a graduate of the Canton School of Business in 1930, and a Pure Oil distributor in Waynesboro, Va., before serving in the Army during World War II. In 1952 he moved to the Eastern Shore, where he owned and operated the Exmore Western Auto. A 40-year member of the Franktown United Methodist Church Choir, he was past president of the Exmore Rotary Club and a Paul Harris fellow.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, T. Charles Renner Jr. of Franktown and William Tankard Renner of Annapolis, Md.; daughters-in-law, Sharon Wagner Renner and Georgia Johns Renner; and four grandchildren, Anna Lee Womble, Sarah Elizabeth Renner, Kathryn Tankard Renner and Megan Elizabeth Renner.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Franktown United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, in care of Mrs. T.A. Holland, P.O. Box 724, Nassawadox, Va. 23413. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, in Franktown United Methodist Church by the Rev. Brooke Willson. B.D. Holland Funeral Home, Nassawadox, is handling arrangements.
