Edith Mitman Alexander, 85, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 1995, in Fayetteville.
She was born Oct. 2, 1910, at Cradock, in Portsmouth, Va., the daughter of Fredrick and Mary Wyman Richardson. She attended and graduated from William and Mary, and Washington and Lee. She was a social worker, a member of the Laurel, Miss., Argus Club, Laurel Garden Club; volunteer with Lauren Rogers Museum in Laurel; actively involved in the Girl Scouts, a lifelong member of the DAR; and a member of the Outlook Club, St. John's Episcopal Church in Laurel and St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fayetteville.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Nordan of Fayetteville; a grandson, Lewis Eric Nordan of Pittsburg, Va.; and two nephews, Fred Alexander of Carrollton, Va., and Lindon Alexander Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Arrangements are by Moore's Chapel, Fayetteville. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, P.O.
