ALTON M. BEDDARD

Sargeant First Class Alton M. Beddard, US Army (Ret.), 65, of the 400 block of Woodford St., died Dec. 3, 1995, in Portsmouth.

He was born in Plymouth, N.C. He retired from the Army in 1973 after 24 years and was a veteran of Korea. He also retired from ADT Security Systems in 1992 after 19 years. He was an avid bowler.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Beddard; four daughters, Sheila Thorpe and Tanya Salonga, both of Norfolk, Tammy Cross of Frederick, Md., and Tracey Moore of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two sons, Charles Beddard of West Virginia and Roger Beddard of Hampton; two brothers, Leon Beddard and Mervin Beddard of Plymouth; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by Pastor Mark Schroeder. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
