Contrary to the opinion expressed in ``Police this limit'' (letter, Nov. 17), the decision to lower the speed limit on Kempsville Road was not a wise one for the people who use this road every day.
With the widening of the road and a regular radar set up, 35 mph is a safe speed for the road.
With the future plans for construction on Military Highway, Kempsville Road will not be able to handle the overflow of traffic with the 25 mph speed limit.
The traffic engineer is making a study to find out what effect lowering the speed limit has had on traffic flow and the community. Those who feel the speed limit should be raised back to 35 mph should write to the mayor and the assistant city manager at 1101 E. City Hall Ave., Norfolk 23510.
