ARCHIE F. ALLEN SR.

Archie Franklin Allen Sr., 85, of the 1500 block of Beekman St., died Monday morning, Dec. 4, 1995, in his son's Richmond home.

He was born in Norfolk, and was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Hargrove Allen. He was retired from the Railway Express Agency as a supervisor after many years of service.

Mr. Allen was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, a 57-year member of The Wesleymen, a 50-year member of Corinthian Masonic Lodge, No. 266, a 32nd degree Mason in the Norfolk Scottish Rite Bodies, a past worthy patron of Westminster Chapter, No. 99, Order of Eastern Star, and was active in the Fox Hall Civic League.

Survivors include two sons, Archie F. Allen Jr. and his wife, Delores, of Richmond, Va., and David G. Allen and his wife, Jeanette, of Irving, Texas; three sisters, Mabel Perry of Virginia Beach, Ester Harris of Norfolk, and Lois Madon of Kingsland, Ga.; a brother, Cecil Allen of Norfolk; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A chapel funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Cox Funeral Home with Masonic rites. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park in Virginia Beach. The family will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 3 p.m. and from 7 to 8 p.m. for visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to The Wesleymen, 408 Boush St., Norfolk 23510.
