Cherry Williams Selby, 63, of the 1700 block of Whiteside Lane, died Dec. 4, 1995. She was residing with her daughter at the time of her death.
Mrs. Selby was born in Fairfield, N.C., and was a lifelong resident of Virginia Beach. She was retired from Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Co., now known as Bell Atlantic, with 32 years of service. She was the widow of John Dersotte Selby Sr. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America, C.W.A. Club, and Oldies but Goodies Bowling Team.
Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia S. Palmer of Virginia Beach and Janice S. Langston and son-in-law E. Wayne Langston of Norfolk; a son, John Dersotte Selby Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.; and four grandchildren, Shannon, Nathan, Jason and Jonathon.
The funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Leon Williams in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will greet friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
