Elisha Williams, 85, of the 2800 block of Westminster Ave., died Dec. 2, 1995, in Sentara General Hospital.
Mr. Williams, the widower of Lemon Williams, was a native of Fairfield, N.C. He was a retired forklift operator from the Naval Air Station, where he worked for 30 years. He was a member of New Rising Sun Baptist, where he was a Father of the Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruby Williams, Mary Harper of Norfolk; six sons, James T. Williams of Kentucky, Johnnie Williams of Portsmouth, Joe Williams of Chesapeake, Richard Williams, Fred Williams, and Dave Williams, all of Norfolk; 23 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a host of friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in New Rising Sun Baptist Church by the Rev. Zack Pippins Jr. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Garden. A wake will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at New Rising Sun Baptist Church, located at 201 Patrick St., Norfolk. Family and friends will assemble at 2800 Westminster Ave., on Thursday at noon for the funeral procession. Hale Funeral Home in charge.
