James Edward ``Ed'' Ricks, 87, died Monday, Dec. 4, 1995, in his home.
Mr. Ricks, a native of Southampton County, Va., moved to Greenville in 1926. Survivors include his wife, Ethel L. Ricks; sisters, Mae Binford of Richmond, Va., Maggie Estelle Russell of Oxford, Md., Erma Louise Jordan of Smithfield, Va.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:30 to 9 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Crippled Childrens Hospital, c/o Sudan Temple, P.O. Drawer 490, New Bern, N.C. 28563 or the Masonic and Eastern Star Home, 7005 Holden Road, Greensboro, N.C. 27420.
