William Richard Meyer Sr., 79, died Dec. 4, 1995, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
He was a retired field representative of Grumman Corp. in New York. He was the widower of Mary I. Meyer and a member of Lynnhaven United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Washington Masonic Lodge (NU)5 in North Kingstown, R.I. Mr. Meyer was a native of New York City.
He is survived by a sister, Hazel Dycker of Carrollton, Texas; grandson, Erik W. Meyer and granddaughter, Jennifer A. Meyer, both of Virginia Beach; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Meyer of Virginia Beach; two nieces, Laura Eastburn and Susan Gibbons, both of Carrollton. He was preceded in death by his son, William R. Meyer Jr.; his parents, William J. and Antoinnette Meyer; and a brother, Roy Meyer.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday by the Rev. Bruce D. Tuttle in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel. Burial is in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
