Macie B. Melvin, 73, of the 600 block of New York Ave., died Dec. 1, 1995, in Sentara Leigh Hospital.
She was a retired dietary aid for Sentara Norfolk General where she worked for 19 years. She had been retired for nine years. Mrs. Melvin was a native of Fayetteville, N.C., and was the widow of Willie James Melvin. She was a member of The Way of the Cross C.O.
G.I.C., Norfolk.
She is survived by four daughters, Yvonne Rhodes, Marilyn Haggie, Joyce Melvin, Tina Zayas, all of Norfolk; son, Roschell Baker of Norfolk; two brothers, Wilbert Baker of Westbery, Long Island, N.Y., William Baker of Baltimore; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral serivce will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday by Dr. Lewis E. Hines in The Way of the Cross C.O.
G.I.C., Norfolk. Burial is in Hampton National Cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at 600 New York Ave. at 10 a.m. for the funeral procession Friday. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
