Award-winners in the Portsmouth Christmas Parade have been announced in band, lights, vocal, float and spirit categories.
Band winners included Park View Elementary's marching band, which took top honors; Christian Antioch's drum and flag corps, second place; and the John Yeates Middle School Supersonics, third.
High school marching bands were judged in a separate competition. I.C. Norcom High School placed first, followed by Sussex Central and Churchland.
The Coast Guard Auxiliary won the lights competition, and the Portsmouth Police Department came in second.
In vocals, Hearts On Fire placed first; Highland-Biltmore Elementary, second; and Hunt-Mapp Middle School, third.
In the float competition, the city of Norfolk's ``Streets, Bridges and Drain Division'' placed first; Bell Atlantic came in second; and the Portsmouth Naval Medical Center took third.
