Alvis Montgomery Cole Jr., 85, of the 400 block of Cummings Road, died Dec. 6, 1995.
Mr. Cole, a retired project manager at Danials Construction, was a former manager of quality control at Ford Motor Company for 18 years. He was a native of Roanoke, Va., and a Presbyterian. Mr. Cole was a member of Lake Drummond Masonic Lodge (NU)178 for 50 years and Princess Anne Masonic Lodge (NU)25. He was a disabled Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Whitehurst Cole; two daughters, Marilyn Hampel and Betty Hoffmann, both of Virginia Beach; a brother, Glenn Cole of Tampa, Fla.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Ascension Catholic Church, 4853 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, by Father Jim Gallagher of Church of Good Shephard and Saint Cathrines in Clarksville, Va. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. The family will receive friends in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Masonic rites will be accorded at the grave by Lake Drummond Masonic Lodge (NU)178 and Princess Anne Masonic Lodge (NU)25.
