LILLIAN H. BALLANCE

Lillian Marie Hendrix Ballance, 95, of the 2600 block of Powell Circle, died Dec. 8, 1995, in her residence.

Mrs. Ballance, the widow of Fleetwood Lee Ballance, was a homemaker and former teacher. She was a native of Gilmerton, Deep Creek, Norfolk County, and a member of Cradock Baptist Church. She was an associate member of Somme Avenue Christian Church of Norfolk and Temple Baptist Church Sunshine Club. She was an honorary member of Cradock Women's Club. She taught at Sign Pine School in 1920 and was a substitute teacher at Alfred Mapp School in Cradock.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Norma B. and Walter Gray; a son and daughter-in-law, Fleetwood Gayle and Etta Ballance; five grandchildren, Tony Ballance, Ginny Ballance, Gail Krick, Bruce Kahn and Ray Kahn; three step grandchildren, Sharon Drake, Marsha Nelson and James R. Gray; four great-great-grandchildren; and five step great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, by Dr. William F. Gregory. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association.
