Virginia Beach is overly concerned about making up the $12 million school-budget deficit.
Virginia Beach should charge $250 for every ticket for running a red light, $100 for everyone exceeding the 25 mph school-zone limit and $64 for everyone going over 45 mph down Princess Anne Road between Witchduck and Newtown Roads (35 mph limit). The city could have excess funds before next school term!
I'll never understand why I see at least three to four red-light runners every day but never see one ticketed. The police should get off Edwin Drive and onto Princess Anne or Holland Road and give tickets that would be lifesaving.
