Scoop,'' the mascot of The Virginian-Pilot, was a big hit with the
crowds who attended Chesapeake's Christmas Parade, sponsored by
local Jaycees, on Nov. 30. I was ``Scoop's'' chauffeur on the parade
route and had a close-up view of his wild and crazy antics.
Virginian-Pilot employee Michael Keane, who is ``Scoop's''
alter-ego, gave the bug-eyed newspaper a hug as he waited for the
parade to begin.
