RAYMOND L. BROWN SR.

Raymond L. Brown Sr., 60, of the 1300 block of Shamrock Gardens Court, died Dec. 6, 1995.

Mr. Brown, a boiler equipment operator, worked for the Portsmouth Naval Hospital and Norfolk Naval Shipyard for 14 years. He was a native of Chesapeake and the widower of Constance C. Ward Brown. Mr. Brown was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, TVAFE Metal Trades Council AFL-CIO, and former president of United Steelworkers Union, Local 125445. He was the son of the late Daisy Thornton Brown and Robert Mack Brown Sr.

Survivors include seven daughters, Linda D. Williams, Alfreda A. Brown, Vickie R. Brown, Lesia R. Brown, Sarita M. Clark, Adriane Brown, DeVona L. Brown, all of Chesapeake; three sons, Raymond L. Brown Jr., Gregory L. Brown, both of Chesapeake, Alvan C. Brown of Beaufort, S.C.; a sister, Gertie Wilson of Chesapeake; three brothers, Lee Brown, Robert M. Brown Jr., both of Chesapeake, Howard Brown of Maryland; and 17 grandchildren. He leaves behind many loving relatives and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Galilee Baptist Church, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Anderson Foreman. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 1737 Campostella Road, Chesapeake, at noon Wednesday for the funeral procession to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Norfolk, in charge.
