HATTIE T. JAMES

Hattie T. James, 66, of the 2000 block of Richard Ave., beloved wife, mother and grandmother went home to be with our Lord Dec. 6, 1995. She died in a local hospital.

Mrs. James, a retired machinist, worked for Chase Bags Manufacture. She was a native of Enfield, N.C., and a member of Saint John Church of God in Christ, Newport News.

Survivors include her husband, Alfonzo James Sr. of Newport News; two daughters, Dorothy Wilson and Mary Lassiter, both of Norfolk; three brothers, Alfonzo James Jr. and Simon James, both of Newport News, Herman Anthony Jr. of Norfolk; five sisters, Josephine Miller of Philadelphia, Wilheminia Batts of Scotland Neck, N.C., Maggie L. Giddin of Hampton, Lucinda Cofield of Rocky Mount, N.C., Mary Cofield of Chesapeake; two brothers, Willie Seals Jr. of Philadelphia, James Seals of Detroit, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in St. John Church of God In Christ, Newport News, by Bishop Samuel L. Green. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The family will receive friends at 3624 N. Ingleside Drive, Norfolk, at 11 a.m. Monday for the funeral procession to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Norfolk, in charge. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
