Daisy L. Christian Middleton, 86, of the 1100 block of Virginia Avenue, died Dec. 6, 1995, in Gates County, N.C.
Mrs. Middleton, the widow of Roy G. Middleton, was a native of Portsmouth. She was a deaconess and member of choirs, auxillaries and clubs at New First Baptist Church Taylorsville, Portsmouth. She was a member of the Wesley Senior Citizens and many other community organizations and activities.
Survivors include two daughters, Marcella O. High and Geneva Dunn, both of Portsmouth; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in New First Baptist Church Taylorsville, by the Rev. T.M. Steele. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. Monday. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The family will be at 559 Broad St., Portsmouth, and will assemble there for the funeral.
