I'll bet columnist Molly Ivins has a shelf full of fundamental truisms (FTs)!
One Molly FT is that capital-gains-tax cuts are evil. This FT says that capital-gains-tax relief rewards the villainous rich. Actually, pension plans and mutual funds have the most to gain from capital-gains-tax relief since pension plans and mutual funds hold most of the equity assets. That, Molly, is Middle America.
And the villainous rich? The few I have contact with work harder than I ever care to work. One actually created my job!
