CAREER TRACK

BANKING

Wanda C. Wilson and Sherry B. Dewar were promoted to senior vice presidents at Central Fidelity National Bank. Wilson serves as senior manager in retail administration and is responsible for credit and compliance issues, marketing and the utility staff at the World Trade office in Norfolk. Prior to this, she was branch manager at this office. Dewar serves as a group manager in retail administration at the Pembroke office in Virginia Beach and is responsible for 22 branches in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake and the Eastern Shore. Prior to this, she was branch manager of the Laskin Road office.

HEALTH CARE

Dr. Gary L. Krebs, a pediatrician, is practicing at Sentara Health Care Center in Chesapeake. He formerly practiced at the Sentara Health Care Center at Kempsville.

INDUSTRY

James Puckett was named director of human resources for Goodwill Industries of Hampton Roads Inc. He will oversee all aspects of the agency's personnel and rehabilitation services. Most recently, he wrote proposals for RTW Rehabilitation Services in Hampton.

LAW

John M. Cooper was named an associate at Kalfus & Nachman in Norfolk. He was formerly an associate with Croshaw, Beale, Hauser & Lewis in Virginia Beach. He also clerked for the Honorable Rebecca Smith in the U.S. District Court for the eastern district of Virginia.

Richard C. Beale and Jonathan L. Hauser, previously of Croshaw, Beale, Hauser & Lewis in Virginia Beach, have joined the Richmond firm of Christian, Barton, Epps, Brent & Chappell as partners. They will remain at their office at One Columbus Center in Virginia Beach.

MANUFACTURING

Mi Richter was named vice president of sales and marketing of specialty coffee at First Colony Coffee & Tea Co. She is the former president of Willigham Manor Gourmet Biscuit Company in Norcross, Ga.

ORGANIZATIONS

Henry C. Wolf was elected a new board member of Shenandoah Life Insurance Company, which is headquartered in Roanoke. Wolf is executive vice president of finance for Norfolk Southern Corp.

Joann J. Belote, a relocation director for Coldwell Banker Gifford Realty in Norfolk, was named president-elect of Tidewater Association of Realtors.

Lauretta Burn-Kaiser was named president at the annual meeting of the Association of Certified Professional Secretaries. She is manager of program administrative services with the Maryview employee assistance program at Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth.

Dr. George A. Parker, professor of surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School, was elected president of the Virginia Surgical Society, a statewide organization of general, thoracic and cardiovascular surgeons.

REAL ESTATE

Eric Apperson was named vice president general manager at GSHH Construction, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Goodman Segar Hogan Hoffler. He will oversee the operations of the company. He previously worked with Armada/Hoffler Construction Co. as an assistant project manager.

Anthony O. Thompson was named construction management coordinator with Virginia Building Services in Chesapeake, also a wholly-owned subsidiary of Goodman Segar Hogan Hoffler. He will coordinate construction and renovation projects in the Hampton Roads and Richmond areas. He was previously vice president of C.E.C. in Denver, Colo., where he coordinated real estate development projects.

Karen R. Beale was promoted to executive vice president of Hamner Development Co. in Newport News. She will assume direct responsibility for the total operation of the company. She joined the company in 1994 as vice president of marketing.

SERVICE

William Turner was named district supervisor of Tune Up Plus in the Tidewater area. He will be responsible for sales and development for eight area stores. He has over 12 years of management experience in the automotive service industry.
