Annie Bell ``Mute'' Tompkins, of the 500 block of Delaware Ave., died Dec. 8, 1995, in Lafayette Villa Nursing Home.
Mrs. Tompkins was born in Norfolk and was the widow of Van Buren Tompkins. She was a member of Mount Zion Community Church, (NU)2 Choir, Usher Board and was treasurer of the church. She was a former member of Garretts Community Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Cloria Williams of Norfolk; five grandchildren; two nieces, Janie Jernigan of Norfolk and Barbara Davis of New York City; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Mission of Truth Full Gospel Church by Pastor Janie Jernigan. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The remains will be ready for viewing at 3 p.m. Tuesday. The family will assemble at the church at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home is in charge.
